How Can You Tell If Fabric Has 4-Way Stretch?

Not all 4-way stretch fabrics are labeled as such or are labeled under a different name. Luckily, if you’re unsure whether a fabric has 4-way stretch, it’s pretty easy to tell. It’s easy to tell if a particular fabric has 4-way stretch.

All you have to do is take the fabric in your hands. Pull on opposite sides of the fabric to see if it stretches and then recovers after being stretched. Then, stretch the fabric from top to bottom to see if it stretches and recovers in that way. If the fabric stretches and recovers in both directions, then it is a 4-way stretch fabric.
